Ticker Tape Pictorial Quilts

A workshop introducing Quilt-As-You-Go techniques, applique edge finishing options, using scraps to make ticker tape quilts and making ticker tape pictorial quilts using templates.  Wilbur, our Basset Hound was the inspiration for this class and a template is included with the class materials.   Other templates available on the day include flowers and animals such as a dolphin, cat, cow and even a teddy bear.  Feel free to bring your own design too!

Traditional Blocks Made Modern

A workshop that includes patterns for 4 quilts, 13 blocks and an examination of various aspects of modern quilting and how they can be used to update traditional quilt blocks.

Rainbow Rose - A colour wheel exploration

A workshop that examines the artists colour wheel, expanding it for fabric selection and creating either a baby quilt using 5" charms, or a bed quilt using 10" layer cake squares. Make a blended colour wheel using the traditional Dutch Rose block as the basis for the quilt.  Full quilt pattern and 3 options for an applique border are included.

Elements of a Modern Quilt

This workshop includes a full pattern for a modern sampler quilt, showcasing modern quilting elements such as negative space, asymmetry, border treatments, visual weight and scale, alternative grid and improvised quilting.
